Unwetter: Leserbriefe aus den Niederlanden und aus Wales

Die Familie Albert Herfst aus Zwanenburg in den Niederlanden schreibt: «We have been guests in Berner Oberland for over two decades and witnessed the
waterflood last August when we stayed in Interlaken Hotel Neuhaus (direct at the lake). We were evacuated in the night from the Hotel and had to leave the area and returned to The Netherlands only three days after our arrival. We feel very sorry for all people who suffered damage, it made us very sad leaving our beloved Switzerland in this way. We left because there was nothing to do for us and we did not want to be in the way. The army, fuerwehr and staff of Neuhaus were very helpfull and friendly and we wish everebody all the best with the recovery and cleaning of their houses and accomodations. We hope to return next year again but under better spirits!»

Dave and Mair Dowell aus St. Asaph, Wales (Grossbritannien) schreiben: «As you know we ‹read› and look at the ‹Beo News› on the Internet every day and we have seen the photos and have been reading about the terrible floods you have there. It has also been telling us a lot about it and showing pictures on our news programmes on television over here. Just about an hour ago they were showing Interlaken and all the floods there. We just wanted to say how sorry we are and that we are thinking about you all over there and we just wish that we could do something to help.
